Thank you to each and every one of you that played a part in helping us win our 2022 British Knitting & Crochet Awards.
This year we were able to win 2 awards; Best Sock Yarn Brand with our Cosy Toes range & the one we are most proud of is Number One Independent Yarn Brand, we were also highly commended for another 6 awards such as; Best Online Store, Best Toy Yarn Brand, Best Value Brand, Best Brand for British Wool, #1 Over all Brand For Knitting and #1 Overall Brand for Crochet, this means a lot to us as a family owned business. So, again a big thank you to everybody that helped us achieve these amazing feats.
This blog will touch on the history of the Marriner brand and what the brand means to us and our customers and how far the business has come since the early days of Marriner Yarns
With over 200 years of supplying the Great British public with yarn, it’s fair to say that Marriner has ‘woven’ its way into the hearts of knitting enthusiasts throughout the country.
From our beginnings as a cotton spinning mill in Yorkshire in 1784, right up to selling our yarn online today, our company’s two-hundred-year history has run parallel with Britain’s love of knitting.
We’re proud to have played such a big part in the lives of our knitting community. Indeed, many of our customers today remember when they had garments knitted for them, using Marriner Yarns, when they were children. Such longevity is a privilege and honour, which we don’t take for granted…
Although the way in which our customers buy yarn may have changed (we no longer accept a threepence!), our commitment to offering quality yarns at unbeatable prices is as true today as it was 200 hundred years ago.
We are passionate about providing you, our customer, with consistent, honest pricing so that you can be confident that you’re getting the best possible price.
No fad sales. No ‘huge discounts. Just year-long, honest pricing.
If you’re a Marriner customer of old or a newbie knitter buying your first yarns with us, we’d love to hear from you. Why not drop by our Facebook Page or follow us on Twitter and let us know how you’re using our yarns.
