Marriner Merino DK 100% Pure Wool
Merino wool is an amazing fibre and incredibly sought after for its softness.
This 100% Merino wool takes full advantage of the incredible properties of this natural fibre - evolved to keep sheep comfortable at temperatures ranging from 5 degrees to 95 degrees, its safe to say that this fibre has truly perfected temperature regulation and sweat wicking. Its no wonder Merino wool clothing is so popular with athletes like Andy Murray and Chris Froome.
But as yarn lovers, we all want to know how soft it really is...
Put simply, Merino wool is three or four times finer than human hair, making it thinner and softer than most types of regular wool. It is also incredibly flexible, which means that as it brushes against the skin, it actually bends out of the way - making it truly silky-soft. Even those that normally find wool picky should be able to wear Merino with no problem.
From brighter reds and deeper purple, to pale pastels and essential neutrals, our range of shades will make sure you can knit or crochet all of your Merino WIP dreams!
Please note: this Merino wool is not produced by our sheep on the Marriner Farm. The only sheep we rear in our flock is the Romney Marsh sheep.
