Marriner Romney Vale 100% DK Wool
Reared in nearby fields close to our HQ, this wool has been spun using the fleece of our very own flock.
After the introduction of our pure wool Aran range to much acclaim, we wanted to create another range in Double Knit.
Double Knit has always been our most popular weight among our customers, and by creating a DK yarn with our Romney fleece, we hope that even more customers will be able to enjoy the experience of knitting with 100% pure wool.
Our flock of Romney ewes (and our two rams) are sheared twice a year. Their gorgeous fleece is then gathered and sent to a UK based wool spinner, where it is washed, processed and spun into our 100% natural DK wool.
The Romney Marsh sheep are renowned for their adaptable fleece, which has a semi-lustrous appearance, and a lovely natural cream colour. It's also considered to be of finer quality at around 32 microns - whereas other typical sheep breeds are around 50 microns.
Please note; as the wool is dependent on seasonal shearing, and our flock is not large, this wool may be strictly limited edition until the next batch of fleece is processed and spun.
